Big fan of Darnell Hillman of the Pacers. Jerome Kersey was a great in-game dunker.

In his prime, Shawn Kemp was unreal.

Lebron and Kobe are unreal right now. Same goes for Josh Smith.

I think Carter took the contest to a new level after it appeared all the dunks had been created.

Darryl Dawkins

Dunking Bio
1. He was groundbreaking - He shattered backboards during games, forcing the NBA to switch to the breakaway rim.
2. He was a leaper and was mobile, and had a nice career with the Sixers
3. As far as showmanship and personality… you’ve got to be kidding me. See the following.
4. His nickname was Chocolate Thunder, which in and of itself is a top-20 all-sport nickname (yet another RFS column)
5. He claimed to hail from the planet Lovetron.
6. On his home planet Lovetron, his girlfriend’s name was - and I am not making this up - Juicy Lucy.
7. He named his dunks. And when I say he named his dunks, that’s roughly analogous to saying that Shakespeare wrote some plays, F. Scott Fitzgerald liked to drink and write stories, Lebowski liked to relax, and Ron Jeremy made a career out of fornication. Dawkins’ signature dunk was his backboard-shattering jam over Dave Robinzine. He named it:
——————————————————————————–
“The Chocolate-Thunder Flyin’, Robinzine Cryin’, Teeth Shakin’, Glass Breakin’, Rump-Roastin’, Bun-Toastin’, Wham-Bam-I-Am-Jam”
——————————————————————————–

It’s killing me that I can’t find some video footage of it, but you’ve probably seen it. The name is what’s important. In addition, he had the following names for his other dunks:
The In Your Face Disgrace
<TABLE align=right><TBODY><TR><TD>
DDawkinsPhl.jpg
</TD><TR></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
The Go-rilla
The Earthquaker Shaker
The Candyslam
The Dunk You Very Much
The “Look Out Below!”
The Yo Mama (my personal favorite)
The Sexophonic Turbo Delight
The Rim Wrecker
The Greyhound Bus (in which he went coast-to-coast)
The Cover Your Head, and
The Left-Handed Spine Chiller Supreme
Enough yammering from me. Watch the video (and ignore the captions - many of the dunk names are wrong):

I saw Carter live before all his injurys and the stuff he did was just silly

I think Barkley usually led the league in dunks during the Jordan Era. So he gets mention too.

I will do a write in for Dawkins, was da bomb.
After his second or third shattering of the glass he was told he would be fined and or suspended if it happened again.

I have to give credit to Journeyman for not being historically biased. Pretty cool he could go that far back and then to modern day.

I always like Tom Chambers in NBA LIVE. He would float for an hour
That one dunk he had, you know THE DUNK. Who was it against what was the scenario?

Kemp was incredible in high school. He was from Elkhart, Ind (just outside of South Bend). His team was undefeated playing in the HS Finals (one class at the time). He had five dunks the first qtr.

It was against the Knicks. Like most dunks, it doesnt get jaw dropping until you see it in slow motion. Somewhere around the 30 second mark.
